BBnet partnered with VendiaNet, a Danish Internet Service Provider (ISP), to bring high-speed internet to rural Langeland Island, Denmark. VendiaNet Denmark Case Study

Objectives

Langeland Island struggled with slow and unreliable Internet speeds far below the European vision of Gigabit speeds. This hindered local business growth and discouraged remote workers from settling in the area. VendiaNet envisioned fast, reliable Internet at speeds of up to 250Mbps, with plans to expand to Gigabit-over-the-Air service in the future.

Additionally, VendiaNet faced the challenge of connecting a multi-tenanted apartment block in the region, a project that required tailored infrastructure to meet the demands of multiple households.

To achieve this, they needed a scalable, cost-effective solution that could overcome rural infrastructure challenges. BBnet stepped in to provide a tailored approach for the island’s unique needs.

Solutions

BBnet collaborated closely with VendiaNet and local Infrastructure providers to design a sustainable hybrid fibre-wireless network and provide Gigabit fibre broadband to the apartment block.

Key Highlights:

· Customised Design: BBnet’s CEO, Gurmukh Neote, worked with VendiaNet’s Ulrik Høy-Petersen to create a fibre backhaul and high-site network for Langeland, ensuring scalability and sustainability. For the apartment block, BBnet designed a dedicated fibre network to meet the high-speed requirements of multiple tenants.

· Implementation: BBnet’s team travelled to Denmark to build the fibre core and wireless last-mile networks, delivering a turnkey solution. For the apartment block, a gigabit fibre network was installed, offering residents ultra-fast and reliable internet.

· Training & Sustainability: VendiaNet’s personnel were trained in network management and client installations to ensure long-term success.

· Ongoing Support: BBnet provides remote assistance from our Network Operations Centre in Shannon, Ireland, ensuring smooth operations and supporting VendiaNet’s team with onboarding new clients.
