Located in the heart of Limerick City, the International Rugby Experience is a fully interactive attraction celebrating the spirit, history, and global impact of rugby. As a modern, multimedia-driven venue, seamless connectivity is essential to delivering an engaging and uninterrupted visitor experience.
BBnet was selected to design and deliver a resilient connectivity solution capable of supporting high visitor volumes, interactive displays, and critical operational systems.
The Challenge: Connectivity for a Complex, Interactive Environment
From the outset, the International Rugby Experience required a dedicated internet connection with full redundancy, ensuring the venue would remain online at all times.
Initial Wi-Fi requirements focused on supporting a large number of users, but as the project evolved, this expanded to include full-building Wi-Fi coverage for interactive displays, digital exhibits, and operational systems.
As a new build, the project presented several technical challenges, with complex infrastructure and high performance expectations across every area of the building.
The Solution: Dual Fibre Connectivity and Enterprise Wi-Fi

Dual Fibre Connectivity: Two diverse fibre paths from separate networks provide maximum resilience.
Dedicated 1Gb Internet Connection: High-speed primary connectivity supported by a fully independent backup connection ensures continuous uptime.
Enterprise Wi-Fi Deployment: BBnet designed, implemented, and now supports Wi-Fi throughout the building using a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Aruba solution.
Centralised Monitoring: Integration with HPE Aruba Central enables 24/7 monitoring and AI-driven insights into network performance, ensuring proactive support and optimisation.
This infrastructure supports every aspect of the venue — from interactive exhibits and point-of-sale systems to reliable, high-quality guest Wi-Fi.
