Situated in Adare, Limerick, Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel & Spa is a 4-star, family-run hotel renowned for its personal service. The hotel was experiencing ongoing technical issues but lacked the in-house knowledge to determine whether the problems stemmed from connectivity or WiFi. With separate providers managing different elements of the network, there was no clear accountability, leading to frustration and delays.

Objectives

• Identify and resolve persistent WiFi and connectivity issues.
• Appoint one trusted supplier responsible for the entire network and WiFi infrastructure.
• Simplify support and eliminate the need to manage multiple providers.
• Design and implement a robust Wi-Fi solution capable of delivering uninterrupted connectivity for a high-profile event hosted in a marquee for a local multinational client.

WiFi 7 Deployment:

• Installed a complete WiFi 7 system across the hotel, making The Woodlands the first hotel in Limerick to achieve full WiFi 7 deployment.
• Redesigned the WiFi network with new coverage areas to ensure complete and consistent performance throughout the property.
• Completed a full cabling overhaul to guarantee long-term reliability and performance.

Connectivity:

• Delivered dual internet connectivity via Fibre DIA with Wireless Failover, built on BBnet’s own resilient network infrastructure.
• Worked with Paul O Conner (IT Coordinator, ONS) to configure a dual connection setup where each link operates independently.
• Deployed wireless connectivity immediately, ensuring uninterrupted service while the fibre line was being installed.
