Engenius Router Configuration

These steps needs to be followed in order to configure an Engenius Wireless Router to work with BBNET broadband.

  • Attach the wireless router to your PC using an ethernet cable connected from the ethernet port on you computer to one of the 4 network ports on the back of the router. Your internet connection should be connected to the router as shown below.
  • Open your internet browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox etc ) and in the address bar to login to the router interface, you need to enter ‘http://192.168.1.1′, after which you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter ‘admin’ for both the username and password field and press ‘ Enter’.
(Note the password and username refer to the administration logon. The password for this should be changed to ensure adequate security for home/office network)

  • Once you have successfully logged in, the following screen will be displayed. The items on the left hand side menu are expandable to display the relevant sub menus of that category.

  • Click TCP/IP on the left hand column and select LAN Settings which should display the following page. For standard BBNET connection the settings should be as shown in the image below.  Generally the IP Address and the Default Gateway should both be updated to 192.168.1.253.
  • After all entries have been checked/updated, click on ‘Apply changes’. You will need to login again at this stage. To do this enter http://192.168.1.253 into your internet browser, press ‘Enter’ and login with username and password used earlier.

    • On the left column, under TCP/IP settings, select WAN Settings. Ensure that WAN Access Type is set to ‘DHCP CLient’
